Certified copies, signatures and statements before a notary

Many institutions abroad do not want your original, but a certified copy. Likewise, statements and contracts often need a certified signature. In Serbia this is done by a notary public (javni beležnik). We arrange the certification and, where needed, a court interpreter, translation and apostille, so everything is done in one go.

What we arrange

  • Certified true copies of diplomas, extracts, passports and other documents
  • Signature certification on statements, consents and contracts
  • Parental consent for a child travelling abroad
  • Statements of cohabitation, financial support and other statements for visas and residence
  • A court interpreter at the notary when the signatory does not speak Serbian

When an interpreter is needed at the notary

If a party does not understand Serbian, the notary cannot certify their signature without an interpreter who translates the content of the document for them. We provide a court interpreter for the party's language and coordinate the appointment with the notary.

Certified copies for use abroad

If you are sending a certified copy abroad, it normally receives an apostille and is then translated if needed, so your original stays with you. We check whether the receiving institution accepts this procedure.

Price

Notary fees are set by the official notary tariff; the total price also depends on the number of pages and whether an interpreter, translation or apostille is required. Send us a request for an exact calculation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to attend the notary in person?

For signature certification the signatory must be present in person with valid ID. For a certified copy it is enough for the notary to see the original, which we can arrange for you.

Can I certify my signature on a document in a foreign language?

Yes, but the notary then needs a translation or an interpreter present. We will suggest the simplest solution for your case.
